Jay Harpole

Jay Harpole has a strong background in the energy industry, with extensive experience in executive roles. Jay started their career at ExxonMobil as a Lead Business Analyst in 1998, where they worked until 2000. Jay then joined Dynegy as a Manager in Wholesale and Retail Structuring from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, they joined ENGIE and held various positions, including Manager, Director, and Vice President in the Supply department, until 2013. In 2013, Jay Harpole founded their own consulting firm, Harpole Energy Consulting, LLC, where they served as the Owner and Principal until 2017. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer at APG&E, a position they have held since 2017.

Jay Harpole has a diverse education history. Jay earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance from Louisiana State University between 1996 and 1998. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in International Trade and Finance from the same institution between 1992 and 1996.

In more recent years, Jay Harpole pursued specialized training in the field of solar energy. Jay attended Solar Energy International (SEI) in 2014 and completed the Solar Electric Lab Week (Grid-Direct) program. Additionally, in 2013, they attended SEI to receive training in Solar Business and Technical Sales as well as Solar Electric Design and Installation.

Furthermore, Jay Harpole holds several certifications. In August 2014, they obtained the Residential and Commercial Photovoltaic Systems Certificate (#120407) and the Solar Business and Technical Sales Certificate (#120408) from SEI. In December 2009, they acquired the ERP® (Energy Risk Professionals) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
