Matthew Walton

Matthew Walton has extensive experience in project management and engineering within the energy sector, currently serving as the Acting Project Director for the Power Project Portfolio at APA Group, overseeing diverse initiatives including Solar PV, Wind, BESS, and Gas firming technologies. Prior roles at APA Group include Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Commissioning Manager, and Project Engineer, where responsibilities spanned the delivery of new power generation assets and infrastructure. Previous experience includes project engineering roles at Thiess and Transfield Holdings, focusing on upstream gas projects and emergent works coordination, as well as engineering support on naval shipbuilding contracts with BAE Systems Australia. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Management from Monash University.
