Paul Finstad

VP, Hotel Acquisitions & Asset Management at Aparium Hotel Group

Paul Finstad is a hospitality industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in hotel acquisitions, asset management, and consulting. Paul currently serves as the Vice President of Hotel Acquisitions and Asset Management for the Aparium Hotel Group.

Prior to their current role, Paul served as the Vice President of Hotel Acquisitions and Asset Management for Watermark Lodging Trust, where they were responsible for sourcing and structuring complex transactions and steering them through the entire investment process, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and closing procedures. Paul also has experience in hotel asset management, having provided strategic oversight to over $2.0 billion of hospitality assets.

Before joining Watermark Lodging Trust, Paul worked as a Hospitality & Real Estate Consultant for EY, where they advised international hotel companies, private equity firms, developers, and government entities on their hospitality real estate and tourism needs on both an asset and entity level basis in the United States, Caribbean, and Latin America. Paul has also performed property and portfolio valuations, market studies, feasibility analyses (including repositioning and management/franchise contract review), and loan due diligence.

Paul began their career in the hospitality industry as a summer analyst for Pillar Hotels and Resorts (formerly Archon Hospitality) and an accounting intern for CBRE. Paul then went on to complete rotational internships in hotel operations and food & beverage at Parc 55 Wyndham and Kosch Hospitality, respectively.

Paul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Paul Finstad has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in the field of Hospitality Business.
