Dr. Abdullah H. Sahyoun

Dr. Abdullah H. Sahyoun has extensive work experience in the field of AI and digital transformation. Dr. Abdullah H. is currently the Director and Head of AI & Digital Transformation at APCO Worldwide, where they work with various government and corporate organizations to facilitate their digital transformation. Prior to this, they held roles as the Senior Associate Director and Associate Director at APCO Worldwide, where they integrated analytics and AI into digital PR & Comms practice to generate insights for business decisions.

Dr. Sahyoun is also an Advisory Board Member at The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum and an Impact Council Member in the Digital Transformation Sub-committee at Fast Company Middle East. Dr. Abdullah H. has also served as a Member of the National Advisory Council at the College of Communication & Media Sciences in Zayed University, where they supported the advisory council on AI and digital transformation topics and helped embed AI-related courses in the curriculum.

Prior to their current roles, Dr. Sahyoun worked at EY as the Engagement Manager & Head of Risk Analytics & AI for the GSA region, where they led a team in delivering risk analytics solutions using advanced technologies like machine learning and AI. Dr. Abdullah H. also held the position of Senior Consultant & GSA Risk, Analytics & AI Team Lead at EY.

Furthermore, Dr. Sahyoun has worked as a Senior Data Analyst/Project Leader at TRON gGmbH in collaboration with BioNTech, as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, and as a Guest Scientist & Teaching Assistant at the University of Jena. Dr. Abdullah H. also served as a Research & Teaching Assistant at Leipzig University. Throughout their career, they have utilized data analytics, machine learning, and AI applications to advance scientific research in various fields.

Dr. Abdullah H. Sahyoun completed their education in a progressive manner, starting with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Computer Science from Lebanese University, which they earned from 2006 to 2009. Following this, they pursued higher education and obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Modeling from Lebanese University between 2010 and 2011. Driven by their passion for Computer Science and Machine Learning, they enrolled in Leipzig University from 2012 to 2015, where they successfully completed their Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in Computer Science & Machine Learning. Dr. Sahyoun's educational journey showcases a diverse range of academic interests and a focused dedication to expanding their knowledge and expertise in their chosen fields of study.
