Zachary Wahrenburg

Zachary Wahrenburg has a diverse work experience in scientific research and laboratory management. Zachary currently works at Apeel as a Senior Scientist. Prior to that, they worked at Calyxt as a Research Scientist and Analytical Chemist. Zachary also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, where they focused on studying plant polymers and their role in plant tolerance to stress. Zachary has experience in laboratory management as well, serving as a Lab Manager and Safety Coordinator at DePaul University. In addition, they worked as a Polymer Chemist at Stepan Company, where they supported projects in the polyurethane foam business. Zachary's expertise includes biochemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular genetics, and polymer synthesis.

Zachary Wahrenburg earned their B.A. in Chemistry from DePaul University in the years 2006 to 2010. Zachary then pursued their Masters of Science in Polymer Chemistry at DePaul University from 2010 to 2012. Later, Zachary furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno, between 2015 and 2019.
