Cameron Marlow has a long history of working in the technology industry. Cameron began their career in 1998 as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago Computer Science Department. In 1999, they moved to the MIT Media Laboratory as a Research Assistant, where they conducted research in information visualization, social networks and information retrieval, and completed their Ph.D. In 2002, they became a Developer at the Lafayette Project. In 2003, they were an ORISE Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2005, they became a Research Scientist at Yahoo! Research. In 2007, they were promoted to Manager, Data Science at Facebook. In 2014, they were a Researcher in Residence at Stanford University. In 2015, they founded and became CTO of Physera. Most recently, in 2020, they founded and became CTO of Apella Technology.
Cameron Marlow obtained their B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago between 1995 and 1999. Cameron then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2005.
