Michael Kingsnorth MBCS

Michael Kingsnorth MBCS has a diverse work experience in various roles and responsibilities.

From 2022 to the present, they are an Engineering Manager at Sycle, where they manage customer-facing teams that develop and deliver practice management software solutions for the Audiology industry. Michael collaborates with senior management, engineers, and stakeholders to define roadmaps and maintain architectural integrity. Michael also mentors and develops direct reports.

In 2020, Michael founded AperiMail, where they led the development and maintenance of an open-source-based email solution running on AWS. Michael also managed a team of in-house software developers and infrastructure engineers, as well as an external development team based in Ukraine. Michael spearheaded deliverables and project impediment resolution using their Scrum Master and team management skills.

From 2016 to 2020, they worked at SentryBay as a Systems Manager. Michael was responsible for the entire systems infrastructure, web application development projects, and teams. Michael built a dedicated Web Application Team from scratch and managed the migration of the infrastructure to AWS. Additionally, they managed the in-house DevOps team and handled third-party technology resourcing and suppliers.

From 2010 to 2016, Michael was the Director of Aperi Libertas Ltd, where they completed infrastructure and software development projects for various clients, including UCL, BBC, and The Website Business. Michael developed portals/websites using PHP and an MVC framework hosted in a LAMP stack.

At BBC, from 2012 to 2014, they built the systems specialist department and created project-critical solutions using open-source software. Michael implemented agile Scrum as a framework to improve team communication and deliver projects on time. Michael operated and led daily stand-ups, planning meetings, review meetings, and Scrum artifacts.

Michael Kingsnorth MBCS pursued their education in Computer Science from 1993 to 1995 at the University of Northampton, where they obtained their HND in Computing. Furthermore, they have also obtained the certification of Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from the Scrum Alliance in February 2013.
