Mary Phillips

Head of Aperio Compliance at Aperio Group

Mary Phillips is the current head of Aperio Compliance at Aperio Group. Mary has previous experience as the Chief Compliance Officer at Alambic Investment Management, LP from August 2010 to September 2021. Additionally, they have been a panel at BACCO Conference for Compliance Officers from January 2016 to December 2016. Her most notable previous position was with Lark Media Inc (NaturalPath Media) from January 2006 to December 2010 where they helped co-found and execute corporate operations for a technology company focused on the wellness and sustainability market vertical. At Lark Media Inc, Mary primarily assisted with legal, corporate, and accounting matters, including drafting and review of option grant agreements, promissory notes, board consents and minutes, and other legal documents. Mary also managed outside corporate counsel and assisted with the sale of the company to Six Apart (now SAY Media). Prior to their work in the private sector, Mary was a Public Policy Advocate at UK Soil Association from January 2000 to December 2000.

Mary Phillips received their JD from University of Michigan Law School and their Bachelor of Arts with High Honors in European Mary'story from University of Michigan. Mary also completed a Summer Russian Language Program at Middlebury College.

Mary Phillips reports to Liz Michaels, Co-Head of Aperio, Chicago. They work with Mark Bateman - Director of ESG & SRI Research, Betty Jung - HR Business Partner, and Ryan Stever - Director of Research.
