Loren Deren, CTBS

Loren Deren, CTBS, M.Sc. Biotechnology has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and regenerative medicine industry. Currently, Deren holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Education and Business Development at APEX Biologix, where they have been working since 2023. They are also employed as the Clinical Education & Managing Editor at the Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institute.

Prior to these roles, Deren pursued a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology and Biotechnology Business at the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2020. In 2017, Deren served as the Vice President of Regenerative Medicine & Orthobiologics at Medical Sales College, where they also worked as a Senior Director of Regenerative Medicine & Orthobiologics and Instructor.

Deren began their career in the biotechnology industry as the Biologics Surgical Sales Specialist at Bacterin International, Inc. in 2011. Before that, they worked in pharmaceutical sales at Schering from 2001 to 2010.

In terms of regional management experience, Deren has held positions at Organogenesis Surgical and Sports Medicine, and Orthofix. At Organogenesis, they served as the Biologics Regional Manager for the Northeast US, specializing in biologics for the general orthopedic and spine markets. At Orthofix, Deren was responsible for the sales growth of the Biologics portfolio in the Northeast US region.

Throughout their career, Deren has received several notable achievements and accolades, including being the recipient of the CEO Club award in 2013 and being named the Biologics Specialist of the Year in the same year.

Loren Deren, CTBS, M.Sc. Biotechnology, completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Delaware. Afterward, Loren pursued a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology/Biotechnology Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which is ongoing from 2020 to 2023. In addition to academic achievements, Loren obtained the Certified Tissue Bank Specialist certification from the American Association of Tissue Banks in October 2018. Loren also attended the Medical Sales College, specializing in Orthopaedic Medical Device/Biologics Sales, although specific degree completion details were not provided.
