Jeff Brush

Jeff Brush is currently the Controller at Apex Dental Partners. Prior to that, they were with Deca Dental Group from November 2015 to May 2017, where they held the positions of Controller and Director.

As Controller, Jeff was responsible for building and managing the accounting and financial reporting functions of a growing dental service organization (DSO). Jeff migrated the business from a decentralized accounting platform to a centralized corporate platform by creating a standard chart of accounts within the general ledger. Jeff also transitioned the business from a small business treasury platform to a standard commercial treasury architecture using BOA’s CashPro platform. Furthermore, they streamlined vendor management to enable to the AP team to more efficiently handle the payables process for 40 regional offices.

In addition, Jeff helped create internal controls surrounding payables and disbursements and documented procedures for a department which previously had no internal controls framework. Jeff also developed and managed procedures that helped the organization successfully track and take advantage of vendor incentives. Moreover, they developed and tracked key performance indicators for executive leadership. Finally, they successfully led organization through it's first external financial statement audit and each subsequent audit.

As Director, Jeff implemented corporate expense policy and automated expense report process for accurate recording into the financial record keeping system. Jeff also lead the organization through the transition to a new accounting system. Lastly, they helped implement financial reporting for this multi-location business and cut the month end close time in half.

Jeff Brush has an MBA in Finance from Texas Christian University - M.J. Neeley School of Business and a BBA in Accounting and Finance Double Major from Hardin-Simmons University. Jeff is also certified as a Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accounting.
