Apex for Youth
Jeffrey Woo, EdD, is an experienced educator and professional in various roles within the academic and security sectors. Currently, Jeffrey serves as a Graduate School Course Instructor at the University of the People and holds multiple tutoring positions with Varsity Tutors, specializing in History, Reading Comprehension, and Dissertation support. As a Campus Safety Officer at New York University, Jeffrey ensures safety and security on campus while providing excellent customer service. Additionally, Jeffrey has contributed as an Assistant Basketball Coach with Apex for Youth, focusing on mentorship and player development for youth athletes. With a rich background in security, including roles with the New York City Police Department and previous military service in the New York Guard, Jeffrey brings a diverse skill set to various educational and community services. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in History from Baruch College.

Founded in 1992, Apex for Youth empowers underserved Asian and immigrant youth from low-income families in NYC to unlock their potential and a world of possibility. Through programming focusing on health and well-being, education, and community engagement, our volunteers support and mentor students of all ages to build the next generation of tomorrow’s change makers. We are in active pursuit of a more equitable future.
