John Dougherty

John Dougherty currently serves as the Men's Basketball Assistant Coach at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, a position held since August 2025. Additionally, John has been a Basketball Referee for the PIAA since May 2016. Previous experience includes a role as a Graduate Assistant at James Madison University from June 2023 to August 2025 and serving as the Men's Basketball Manager at Penn State University from September 2019 to May 2023, where John was the head manager for the 2022-23 season and completed an operations internship with the Men’s Basketball team. Early work experience includes a position as a Treat Team Member at Rita's Italian Ice from February 2017 to October 2018. John Dougherty is pursuing a Master of Science in Education, focusing on Adult Education and Human Resource Development at James Madison University, while having earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Sports Studies from Penn State University. Education was completed at Bishop Shanahan High School in 2019.
