Frederico Ribeiro (de Melo)

Frederico (de Melo) Ribeiro has a diverse and extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Frederico (de Melo) started their career as an independent consultant geologist and worked for several companies from 1990 to 1999. Frederico (de Melo) then joined Empresa Nacional del Petroleo ENAP as a senior geologist, where they were responsible for structural geology in various blocks and participated in new ventures study groups in different regions.

Frederico later joined BG Group as a senior geophysicist, where they collaborated with exploration assessment groups and represented the company in technical committee meetings. Frederico (de Melo) also worked on prospect evaluation in the pre-salt Santos basin.

Afterwards, they joined Chariot Oil & Gas Limited as an exploration manager and later moved to ENAP as an exploration manager. Subsequently, Frederico joined Apache Corporation as a new ventures senior staff geologist and later took on the role of exploration manager for international new ventures.

Most recently, they have been working at Apex International Energy as the director of geology. Prior to this position, they worked as an independent consultant, specializing in new ventures and exploration advisory.

From 1985 to 1990, they attended UFOP - Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geological Engineering.

In 1990, they pursued a specialization in Remote Sensing for Environmental Analysis at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho.

From 1991 to 1994, they furthered their studies at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Remote Sensing.

In 1995, they enrolled in UFOP - Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto once again and completed their Doctorate degree in Structural Geology and Tectonics in 2000.

In 1997 and 1998, they attended Royal Holloway, University of London, where they pursued a Doctorate in Structural Geology.

In 2014, they participated in the Executive Leadership Development program at Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business.

From an undefined start year to 2015, they took part in the Advanced Management Program for Oil and Gas Industry Executives at Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Frederico Ribeiro holds certifications as a Certified Petroleum Geologist from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and in GLOBAL OIL & GAS MANAGEMENT from Thunderbird School of Global Management. The specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
