Thomas Salzman

Director of Spacecraft at Apex Space

Thomas Salzman has worked in the aerospace industry since 2013. Thomas began their career at Virginia Tech as a Mechanical Engineer and Lead Mechanical Engineer. In 2014, they worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Price Products Inc. In 2015, they worked as a Systems Engineer at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. The following year, they worked as a Space Systems Integration and Analysis Engineer at Perspecta. From 2017 to 2020, they worked at Millennium Space Systems, A Boeing Company, as a Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer and Lead Spacecraft Mechanical Systems Engineer. In 2020, they began working at Rocket Lab as a Spacecraft Program Manager and Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer. Currently, they are the Director of Spacecraft at Apex.

Thomas Salzman has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Robotics and Controls from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech. Thomas also holds certifications from Scaled Agile, Inc. (SAFe 4.0 Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Practitioner, and SAFe Agilist Certification) and AXELOS Global Best Practice (ITIL Foundation Certification). Thomas obtained all of these certifications between June and August of 2016.
