Elizabeth Thomas is a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. With experience as a Sales Intern at VWR and various research roles, including an ORISE fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focusing on Q fever research, Elizabeth has developed a solid foundation in scientific research and surveillance of infectious diseases. Additional internships at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Gwinnett Drugs provided hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and pharmaceutical compounding. Currently serving as an APHL Fellow at Dallas County Health and Human Services, Elizabeth is involved in developing genomic sequencing workflows to enhance surveillance of avian influenza and antimicrobial resistance.
