Geert Merckaert

Geert Merckaert has been working in the communications and content industry since 1997. Geert began their career as a Chef at Brasserie Vijverhof, then worked as a Freelance Writer from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as an Editor In Chief at VeBIC, followed by a sabbatical in Canada. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Communication Manager at Bakkers Vlaanderen, then a Copywriter and Communications Expert at VLAM from 2012 to 2018. In 2018, they took on the role of Content Officer at Triodos Bank, and Communications Specialist at INTOE. Currently, they are a Content Director at Apicbase.

Geert Merckaert has an extensive education history. Geert began their studies in 1992 at Sint-Michielscollege, where they obtained an Algemeen Secundair Onderwijs in Wetenschappen - Wiskunde. In 1998, they moved on to Hogeschool Antwerpen, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Industrieel ingenieur. Geert then attended AP Hogeschool Antwerpen from 1999 to 2002, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Communicatie - optie bedrijfscommunicatie. From 2002 to 2003, they attended Plantijnhogeschool van de provincie Antwerpen, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Communicatiebeheer - optie pers en voorlichting. Most recently, Geert Merckaert has been studying at Kunsthistorisch Instituut (Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen) since 2014, where they are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Art Theirtory.
