Christos Makris currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics for Hydraulic Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace and holds a position as an Associate Researcher at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where involvement in various projects such as LocAll4Flood and MiCoFLiM focuses on flood risk prevention and coastal flooding impacts. With a robust background in civil and environmental engineering, Christos possesses a Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics and has worked on numerous research initiatives, including climate change effects on coastal areas and navigation management. Christos has a wealth of teaching experience, imparting knowledge in hydraulic engineering courses and has also provided consulting services as a freelance engineer while being an active member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2006.
