George Zalidis

Director Of The Laboratory Of Remote Sensing And G.i.s at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

George Zalidis is a distinguished academic and researcher serving as the Director of the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and G.I.S and a Professor in the Laboratory of Applied Soil Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since January 1995. With a research focus on soil pollution, soil quality and sustainability, bioremediation, and ecological restoration, George Zalidis contributes significantly to the field of environmental science. Additionally, since July 2007, George Zalidis has held the position of Scientific Coordinator at the Interbalkan Environment Center (i-BEC), promoting integrated management and protection of transboundary watersheds and natural resources. Educational accomplishments include a Ph.D. in Soil Physics from Michigan State University and a B.Sc. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
