Marcio Junges has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Marcio is currently the Director - Global Head of Strategic Modernization Program at APM Terminals. Prior to this, they served as the Country General Manager for Hexagon Mining in Chile and Argentina, where they played a key role in helping mining customers with their digital transformation journey. Before that, Marcio worked as an Independent Consultant in Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, Operations, and Asset Management. Marcio also held several executive management positions at Vale, where they contributed to feasibility studies, conceptual projects, digital transformation, innovation, and mineral process development. Marcio has a background in automation, engineering, operational excellence, and project management. Marcio has served in leadership positions at New Steel, AMIRA International, Omnitech Engenharia, and Bese Bio Engenharia, where they gained valuable experience in board membership, project management, and hardware and software development.

Marcio Junges has a diverse education history spanning multiple institutions and fields of study. In 1993, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Marcio went on to complete a Master of Science in Automation, Energy, Fuzzy Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Neural Networks at PUC Minas from 1998 to 2000. In 2002 and 2003, Junges earned a Certificate in GVA - Shareholder Value Generation from FGV EAESP - Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getulio Vargas. In 2004 and 2005, they pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Management at Fundação Dom Cabral. Continuing their executive education, Junges attended the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2010 for a program on Leadership. In 2011, they furthered their leadership training at IMD - Business Programs. More recently, in 2018, they completed Executive Training in Innovation at Columbia University, as well as an undisclosed program in Artificial Intelligence at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
