Senior Manager: Policy & Insights at Apolitical

Jesse Samasuwo has had a varied work experience, beginning in 2013 as a Research Assistant for The Energy Year. In this role, they gathered and standardized technical and financial data for energy firms in Africa and produced a 3,000 word brief analysing Chinese investment in the African energy sector. In 2014, they moved to Prospect Zimbabwe as a Research Assistant, conducting open source research and arranging and conducting telephone interviews with senior figures in the Zimbabwean business community. In 2017, Jesse worked as a Writer for Free Zone Watch and as a Marketing Analyst for CKH Digital Marketing. In 2018, they worked as a Writer for Africa Branding Corporation and a Report Writer for Global Free Zone Report. In 2019, Jesse worked as an Editor for the African Energy Chamber. Currently, Jesse is an Editorial Lead - Learning Content for Apolitical, a global social learning platform for people working in government. In this role, they oversee editorial standards for learning content, including setting style guides and editing content.

Jesse Samasuwo completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Warwick between 2014 and 2017. In 2020, they attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for Military and Strategic Leadership.
