Stephen Shaw has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Stephen is currently working as a Program Director at Apollo Therapeutics. Prior to this, they held the role of Associate Director and Head of Opportunity Sourcing and Translation, Commercial Partnerships at Cancer Research UK (CRUK). In this role, they led a team responsible for identifying and developing innovations from Cancer Research UK-funded discoveries with the potential to benefit cancer patients.
Before joining CRUK, Stephen worked as the Director of Translational Medicine at BioLineRx, where they contributed to the development of translational medicine strategies. Stephen also served as the Research Director at Agalimmune, leading research efforts in the company.
Stephen has experience in the healthcare industry, having worked as the Special Projects Lead in Oncology and Infectious Diseases at Origin Sciences Limited. Stephen was also a Network Partner at The Research Network.
Early in their career, Stephen worked at Pfizer, initially as a Senior Scientist in Veterinary Medicine Research & Development and later as a Principal Scientist in the Infectious Diseases Research Group. Prior to joining Pfizer, they worked as a Marie Curie Fellow in Cell Physiology at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen.
Stephen Shaw completed their Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Pharmacology from the University of Leeds from 1996 to 1999. Stephen then pursued further education and obtained a PhD in Cell Physiology from the same institution, completing it from 1999 to 2002.
