Rick Deacon has worked in the IT and cybersecurity industries since 2006. Rick began their career as an IT Specialist at Howard, Wershbale & Co, where they dealt with system administration and network administration duties. In 2009, they moved to Hurricane Labs, LLC as a Security Analyst, where they performed monthly and project-based network, web, physical, and social tests. In 2010, they joined KeyBank as an Information Security Consultant on the Vulnerability Management and Incident Response team, where they focused on applications and application penetration testing. In 2011, they became a Senior Security Analyst at Bishop Fox, where they conducted penetration tests and assessments of networks, applications, and hardware for Fortune 500 companies. In 2014, they worked as a contract consultant for one of the largest clients at Optiv Inc, performing penetration tests, code assessments, and network vulnerability assessments. In 2017, they co-founded RADwood/RAD For Sale, an 80s and 90s inspired auction and event company, and served as the CTO. In 2021, they founded Interlock, a web3 cybersecurity company that protects DeFi users from web attacks and creates security data for enterprises. RADwood was acquired by Hagerty in 2022.
Rick Deacon obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Lorain County Community College between 2004 and 2010. In December 2022, they obtained a Cryptocurrency Security Standard Auditor certification from the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4).
