Alice Luong has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical science. Alice started their career as a Graduate Student at UC San Diego in 2005, where they conducted research on antibody drug conjugates and developed acid-sensitive linkers for therapeutics. Alice then joined Targeson Inc in 2012 and worked as a Scientist, focusing on lipid microparticle composition development and bioconjugation chemistries. During their tenure, they successfully commercialized five products, developed two clinical product candidates, and filed two patent applications. In 2016, Alice joined Applaud Medical, Inc. as a Scientist and later transitioned to the role of Head of Lipid Chemistry. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Technical Operations at the same company.

Applaud Medical, Inc. was established to develop and commercialize an innovative new treatment for kidney stones, a condition diagnosed in more than 2 million individuals every year in the U.S. alone. Treating large stones currently requires anesthesia in an operating room . The current least invasive surgical intervention only renders 50% ofpatients stone-free. Applaud’s innovative kidney stone treatment will - for the first time - allow urologists to effectively treat 5-15 millimeter stones with a simple outpatient procedure.
