Allison Leikind Schlanger has over 25 years of work experience. Allison began their career in 1992 as Senior Producer for MTV News and Docs. In 1999, they became Supervising Producer for Oxygen Media. In 2001, they were a Producer/Director for MTV and Producer/Researcher for Actual Reality Pictures. In 2003, they became Supervising Producer for mtvU. In 2007, they co-founded and owned both apple seeds and songs for seeds. Apple Seeds is an award-winning, all-in-one play space for families with children newborn to 5 years. Songs for Seeds, named "Best Kids' Music Class" by New York Magazine and "Most Magical Music Class" by Red Tricycle, is a rockin' kids music program.

Allison Leikind Schlanger attended Fair Lawn High School and then the University at Albany, SUNY from 1988 to 1992.
