Chico Jao is a co-founder of SmartBoot, where innovative work on a real-time pedestrian navigation system prototype for first responders was undertaken from September 2021 to June 2023. Prior to this, experience includes serving as an undergraduate student researcher at NTHU Ultrafast Photonics Laboratory, generating and measuring mid-infrared femtosecond lasers, and as a test engineer at MediaTek, where on-board system level testing for Android smartphone chips was conducted. Chico Jao pursued advanced education with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, while also holding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University. Currently, Chico Jao operates as a GNSS Measurement Engine Firmware Engineer at Apple and is a student member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
