Furkan Emre Sahin

Furkan Emre Sahin, Ph.D., currently serves in Camera Architecture at Apple since June 2024, with previous positions at Apple as Camera and Depth Lead and Camera Module Lead from August 2020 to March 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Sensors Engineer at Argo AI, where focus was on self-driving car technologies, and as Senior Research Scientist at Maxim Integrated, emphasizing the development of integrated optical sensors across various markets. Furkan was the chief Optical Scientist at Light, directing research for the L16 computational photography camera. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, complemented by degrees in Health, Technology and Engineering from the Keck School of Medicine, and a BS in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University. Additionally, Furkan co-founded StemSurgical, developing innovative stem cell extraction technology.
