Jaehyun Kim

Jaehyun Kim is a seasoned professional specializing in AR/VR design and development, currently serving as a Research Prototyper at Apple since February 2023. Kim co-founded Play Lab in January 2017, creating immersive VR/AR bicycle workshops for children, collaborating with esteemed clients such as the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior AR/VR Interaction Designer at Samsung Research America from November 2018 to March 2023, where ideation and prototyping of mixed reality concepts were core responsibilities. Additionally, Kim worked as a Design Assistant at the Institute of Play, focusing on game design and educational tools, and contributed to public programming at the New York Hall of Science as a Designer in Residence. Kim holds a Master’s degree in the Design and Development of Digital Games from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
