Minkyong Kim

Minkyong Kim is an accomplished engineering director at Apple, focusing on AI and machine learning within the Siri experience since 2021. Prior to this role, Minkyong served as a member of the board of directors at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute from 2019 to 2021, and as vice president at Samsung Electronics from 2016 to 2021, where Minkyong led the development of AI services like Bixby Voice and ensured GDPR compliance. Minkyong's extensive experience also includes a decade as a research scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, contributing to cloud infrastructure and analytics solutions, as well as postdoctoral research at Dartmouth College in mobile computing and wireless networking. Minkyong holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University.
