Stefan Heinze

Stefan Heinze is an accomplished professional with a strong background in data science and materials science. At PlaceIQ, from June 2019 to January 2021, Stefan held positions as Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist, where scalable solutions to big data problems were designed and machine learning pipelines built and maintained using technologies such as Spark, Scala, and Python. Prior experience includes internships at GE Global Research, Boeing, and a fellowship at Insight Data Science, where Stefan developed HikeAdvisor, an application that recommends hikes based on user preferences. Currently, Stefan serves as a Machine Learning Applied Scientist at Apple, having completed a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science from Rice University.
