Farbod Torabi

Farbod Torabi has a diverse work experience with a focus on autonomous systems and robotics.

Farbod started working at Applied EV in 2019 and currently holds the position of Motion Control/Robotics/Autonomous Systems Engineer.

Prior to that, Farbod worked as an Autonomous Systems Engineer at Applied EV from 2019 to 2021.

In 2018, Farbod served as the Chief Executive Officer at Monash Connected Autonomous Vehicle (MCAV), where they led a student engineering team in developing a platform for connected autonomous vehicles. Farbod also held the role of Chief Engineer at MCAV from 2018 to 2019.

Farbod also worked as a Research Officer at Monash University in 2019.

Additionally, they have experience in the field of unmanned aerial systems as an Avionics Engineer at Monash Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) from 2017 to 2019. During their time at UAS, Farbod developed software, utilized various programming languages and systems, and achieved first place in the 2018 UAV Challenge.

In the past, they worked in various roles at Active Monash, including Swimming Assessor/Supervisor, Swimming Instructor, and Lifeguard, from 2016 to 2019.

Overall, Farbod Torabi has accumulated significant expertise in motion control, robotics, autonomous systems, and unmanned aerial systems throughout their work experience.

Farbod Torabi completed their Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science degree at Monash University from 2017 to 2021. Farbod'sfield of study included an Extended Major in Financial and Insurance Mathematics and a Minor in Physics.

Prior to that, they attended John Monash Science School from 2014 to 2016 where they obtained their Victorian Certificate of Education. Farbod'sfield of study included subjects such as Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Physics, Chemistry, University Maths Extension, and English.

In addition to their education, Farbod also holds several certifications. In 2019, they obtained the CSWA certification from Dassault Systèmes. In 2017, they received the Monash Engineering Excellence Scholarship from Monash University. Farbod also holds certifications in First Aid from Australian First Aid (obtained in 2018) and Pool Lifeguard from Life Saving Victoria (obtained in 2018).
