Lingzhi Zhao

Lingzhi Zhao is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in gene therapy and neurobiology. Currently serving as Vice President of Discovery Biology and Head of Gene Therapy at NeuShen Therapeutics since January 2023, and Senior Director of Gene Therapy at AGTC since September 2021, Lingzhi has successfully led pre-clinical CNS gene therapy programs and developed advanced therapeutic constructs. Previous roles include Director of Gene Therapy at Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, Associate Principal Scientist at Merck, Senior Scientist at AbbVie, Instructor and Assistant Professor of Research at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Postdoctoral Scientist at Eli Lilly. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Sun Yat-sen University, a Master's degree in Pharmacology from China Pharmaceutical University, and a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital in neuroscience and immunology.
