Sarah Young has worked in various roles in the field of technology and bioinformatics since 2002. Sarah began their career as a Data Analyst at Whitehead Institute in 2002. Sarah then moved to the University of Arizona, School of Plant Sciences in 2009, where they worked as a Senior Programmer. In 2004, they joined the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where they held several roles, including Director of Computation, Operations, and Finance, Broad Technology Labs, Director, Strategic Operations, Cancer Dependency Map, Associate Director, Technology Labs, Assistant Director, Microbial Informatics in the Genome Sequencing and Analysis Program, Manager, Genome Assembly & Analysis Group, Supervisor Bioinformatics Assembly Analysis, and Bioinformatics Analyst. In 2021, they began working as an Engineer at Applied Invention.

Sarah Young attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computational Biology. Sarah then attended the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they earned a Master of Business Administration.
