Sr Automation Engineer at Applied Manufacturing Technologies

Ted Mueller began their career in 2010 as a Manufacturing Engineer at Wabash National. In this role, they were responsible for supporting production equipment, quality and safety needs. Ted designed tools, jigs and fixtures to improve the quality of the product, ensure the safety of the production employees, and replaced broken/damaged/worn equipment. Ted was also responsible for supporting projects and budgets relating to 5S and Six Sigma improvements. In 2011, they moved to SelCo Engineering as a Robotic Applications Engineer, where they designed EOAT for material handling and assembly applications using Fanuc and Motoman robots. Ted also programmed Fanuc robots and did electrical design including panel layout and calculations for proper equipment. In 2012, they joined Kawasaki Robotics USA inc. as a Sr. Field Applications Engineer, where they simulated concepts and processes using multiple simulation software, programmed robots and PLC's for turn key automation systems, and installed automation systems. In 2014, they began working at Applied Manufacturing Technologies as a Sr Automation Engineer, where they led a 5 man team of engineers in Taiwan to upgrade glass handling and packaging systems with faster arms, lighter tools and a more intuitive software system, which greatly reduced cycle time, increased throughput and improved the quality of the end product. Ted has implemented changes on 2 lines and is working to implement the same changes to an additional 3. Ted Mueller is currently employed at FANUC America Corporation as a Sr. Technical Specialist.

Ted Mueller attended Ohio Northern University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Manufacturing Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering Technology/Technician.
