Sumukh Johri

Sumukh Johri is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from UCLA who has gained significant experience through various roles. Currently serving as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at JUMPWatts since June 2022, Sumukh has successfully designed and improved mechanical parts using SolidWorks, leading to a 65% reduction in assembly time and a 22% decrease in manufacturing costs through effective material selection. As the Technical Director for Bruin Racing since September 2019, Sumukh has managed a 30-person team, enhancing system efficiency while maintaining project budgets and organizing educational initiatives. Previous roles include Powertrain Lead and Powertrain Engineer for Bruin Supermileage, where leadership and innovative design contributed to competitive performance at the Shell Eco-Marathon. Additionally, Sumukh has engaged in undergraduate research, developing experimental setups and data analysis techniques in the Structures-Computer Interaction Lab and UCLA Optofluidics Systems Laboratory, demonstrating a strong foundation in both practical and theoretical aspects of mechanical engineering.
