Elizabeth Loboa

Elizabeth Loboa is a prominent academic leader and board member with extensive experience in engineering and academic administration. Currently serving as a Board Member at Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. since June 2020, Elizabeth Loboa is also the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southern Methodist University, a role held since January 2020. Previously, Elizabeth Loboa served as the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Partnerships and Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia from October 2015 to June 2020. Additionally, Elizabeth Loboa was an Adjunct Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering during the same period. Earlier in the career, Elizabeth Loboa was a Professor and Associate Professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at NC State University from June 2010 to October 2015. Elizabeth Loboa holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Biomechanical Engineering, both from Stanford University, contributing to expertise in transforming new materials into functional applications within device technology.
