Yaohui Gao

Yaohui Gao is a seasoned Sr. R&D Engineer at Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. since April 2019, focusing on high power DFB laser projects for LIDAR applications. Prior experience includes a role as a Development Engineer at Broadcom Inc., where responsibilities involved semiconductor laser chip processes for optical fiber communication. As a Research Scientist at Sanan Optoelectronics Inc., expertise was applied in InGaN-based LED epitaxy development. Academic achievements include a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and a Master's degree from Sichuan University. Additional research experience spans roles such as Research Assistant at Penn State University and SiChuan University, and an internship at the China Academy of Engineering Physics, emphasizing diverse optoelectronic device fabrication and innovative optical component polishing strategies.
