James Wertz

James Wertz is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in aerospace and military leadership. Currently serving as Principal Program Director at ARA since July 2013, Wertz satisfies U.S. program requirements. Prior to this, Wertz acted as an Aerospace Engineering and Management Consultant after retiring from the United States Air Force in July 2011, providing guidance to aerospace firms and developing curricula for Unmanned Aerial Systems. During a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, Wertz held key leadership roles, including Commander of the 498 Missile Sustainment Group, overseeing an $800M annual cruise missile program, and Deputy Commander of the 412th Test Group, where Wertz managed extensive test operations involving advanced aircraft. Educational credentials include a Master's in Military Strategic Studies from Air War College and a Bachelor's in Space Physics from the United States Air Force Academy.
