Weston Lowrie

Weston Lowrie is a Senior Scientist/Engineer at ARA, with a tenure starting in 2012, serving as Project Manager and Principal Investigator on projects involving advanced modeling techniques, including data-driven machine learning methods. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at the University of Washington, where development of a high-order finite element code for complex multi-physics simulations was undertaken, along with mesh error estimation research. Lowrie also held positions at Yale University, Naval Research Laboratory, Tethers Unlimited Inc., Jay Cashman, Inc., Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc., Atlantic Projects Company, and Bechtel-Enka Joint Venture, gaining extensive experience in engineering, research, and development across various high-technology domains. Educational achievements include a PhD and MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College.
