Alexa Abiscott

Alexa Abiscott has extensive work experience in the legal field. Alexa is currently the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at ApplyBoard, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the General Counsel and Secretary at ApplyBoard from August 2020 to March 2023. Alexa also has experience as a Co-Founder, Past President, and Board Member at Women General Counsel Canada since January 2014. Alexa has been a Member of the Board of Directors at CoinSmart since April 2021. Before that, they worked at Sheridan College as the General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Governors and Chief Privacy Officer from October 2012 to August 2020. Alexa began their career as a Lawyer at Goodmans LLP, where they practiced risk management, litigation, and corporate commercial law from May 2002 to October 2012. Alexa also has experience working as the Congress Secretariat and Research Associate at The International Academy of Law and Mental Health at the University of Montreal in 1999 and 2000.

Alexa Abiscott has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Western University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. In 1999, they completed a Graduate Diploma in International Business Management from McGill University. Alexa also holds an Honours B.A. in Anthropology from McGill University, which they earned from 1995 to 1999. Recently, they have pursued a Director's Certification (NFP) from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management starting from 2015.
