Elizabeth A. Allen

Elizabeth A. Allen is the current Chief Legal Officer at NPR. Elizabeth has held this position since April 2020. Prior to their current role, Elizabeth served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Gannett Co., Inc. from May 2004 to April 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the operations of the company's Law Department and for supporting the board of directors, including advising on matters of corporate governance, M&A, commercial contracts, antitrust regulation, executive compensation and securities compliance. Elizabeth also led the transition and integration of legacy Gannett corporate governance and executive compensation matters post-sale to New Media.

Before joining Gannett, Elizabeth was an Associate at Nixon Peabody LLP from September 1996 to May 2004.

Elizabeth received their J.D. from Boston College Law School and their B.A. from Hamilton College.

Elizabeth A. Allen has a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University, and a Bachelor's in Economics from Harvard University.
