John Colborn

John Colborn is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in nonprofit management, operations, and workforce development. As the Executive Director of Apprenticeships for America since August 2023, John oversees program management, fundraising, and governance for the organization aimed at enhancing apprenticeship opportunities across the United States. Prior to this role, John served as a Visiting Executive at The Graduate! Network and as Chief Operating Officer at JEVS Human Services, where responsibilities included managing client-serving programs within a multi-site organization. John's notable tenure at The Ford Foundation included roles such as Vice President of Operations, where oversight encompassed a global philanthropy with substantial grant-making budgets. With foundational expertise from earlier positions in community development and education, John holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Government and Economics from Oberlin College.
