Pete Barker

Pete Barker has over 25 years of experience in various roles related to loss prevention and fraud. Pete started their career at Sun TV and Appliance, where they worked as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager and later as the Director of Loss Prevention. Pete then joined Staples as an Area Loss Prevention Manager before moving on to KB Toys as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager. Pete then worked at Sears Holdings Corporation as a District Loss Prevention Manager and at DICK'S Sporting Goods in several roles, including Manager of Investigations, District Loss Prevention Manager, and Sr. Manager of Digital Loss Prevention. Most recently, they held the position of Director of Fraud and Identity at SpyCloud. Currently, they are the Director of Product- Engage at Appriss Retail. Throughout their career, Pete has focused on reducing inventory shortage, managing loss prevention programs, and supporting fraud-related initiatives.

Pete Barker attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 1985 to 1986, where they studied Business. Additionally, Pete has obtained several certifications from MRC | Merchant Risk Council. In February 2020, they became a member of the MRC Regional Advisory Board. In September 2019, Pete became a Mentor at MRC, and in February 2019, they joined the Fraud Community Committee as a committee member.
