Christy Jacob

Christy Jacob has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Christy is currently working at Appwrite as an Engineering Lead since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Appwrite from December 2020 to November 2021 and as an Open Source Maintainer from October 2019 to November 2020.

Christy also has experience working at Intuit, where they were a Software Engineer Intern from January 2020 to August 2020 and later transitioned to the role of SWE 1 from August 2020 to May 2021. At Intuit, they played a crucial role in the development of Mint, Intuit's personal finance app, specifically working on initiatives like Mint Live and Overview Revamp. Christy implemented A/B testing frameworks, redesigned the app's overview, and utilized tech stack including Kotlin, Gradle, Android, and Jenkins.

Before joining Intuit, Christy worked as an Android Developer at the Developer Student Club from June 2019 to January 2020. Christy collaborated with a non-profit organization called WhyWaste to develop an Android app for water tracking and rewarding users for judicious water usage.

Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Intern at SAMSUNG R&D Institute India - Bangalore Private Limited from May 2019 to July 2019. At VISIO.AI, they worked as a Research Intern from July 2017 to August 2018, where they developed APIs for driver drowsiness detection, optimized systems for real-time computation on low-power devices, built a companion Android app, and developed a system for real-time automatic number plate recognition.

Throughout their work experience, Christy has demonstrated expertise in various technologies such as Python, Keras, TensorFlow, Redis, Android, Kotlin, and MongoDB.

Christy Jacob's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from PES University. Christy also attended AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School in India, where they studied Computer Science in high school. Additionally, Christy has obtained various certifications from Coursera, including "Applied Machine Learning in Python," "Applied Text Mining in Python," "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Deep Learning Specialization," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Introduction to Data Science in Python," "Matrix Factorization and Advanced Techniques," "Nearest Neighbor Collaborative Filtering," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," "Recommender Systems: Evaluation and Metrics," "Sequence Models," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," "Text Mining and Analytics," and "Text Retrieval and Search Engines." These certifications were obtained in July 2018.
