Yuri Baburov

Yuri Baburov has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. Yuri began their career in 2005 as a Software Developer at Xored Software Inc, where they developed Java-based plugins and various applications. Yuri then moved on to become Lead Developer at the Institute of Cytology & Genetics (ICG) SB RAS in 2006, and was also an Assistant Professor at Novosibirsk State University (NSU) that same year. In 2006, they were also the Web dept. head at YourSway, and Owner of buriy.com, where they programmed, maintained databases, and administered Linux hosting. In 2007, they became a Senior Web Developer at World News Inc, where they worked with Python/Django and consulted on a multitude of company websites. From 2013-2018, they were self-employed as a Machine Learning Developer and Consultant, as well as a Web Development Specialist and Consultant. Yuri specialized in Russian NLP models for SpaCy (Spacy-Ru), Russian articles datasets for NLP purposes, and Active Learning for SpaCy (Active NER). In 2018, they took on the role of a Deep Learning specialist at a company which was not disclosed. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Chief Technology Officer at ApRbot.

Yuri Baburov obtained their Engineer degree in Information Technologies from Novosibirsk State University (NSU) between 2000 and 2005. Yuri also has an additional certification in Introduction to Artificial Intelligence from Udacity.
