Subit Chakrabarti has extensive work experience in various roles related to technology, data science, and remote sensing. Subit is currently the Vice President of Technology at Floodbase, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this role, Subit served as the Director of Technology at Floodbase from June 2021 to February 2023.
Before joining Floodbase, Subit worked at Indigo starting in 2018. Subit held multiple positions at Indigo, including Team Lead, Remote Sensing and Geoscience from January 2021 to June 2021, Senior Data Scientist from January 2020 to January 2021, and Data Scientist II from December 2018 to January 2020.
Subit's career began in 2012 when they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Remote Sensing, University of Florida, and the Computational Neuro-Engineering Laboratory, University of Florida. Subit worked in these roles until September 2017.
In 2017, Subit worked as a Remote Sensing Data Scientist at TellusLabs for a period of one year. Prior to that, they gained experience as an Indian Academy of Sciences Intern at the Robotics and Mechatronics Lab, Bengal Engineering and Sciences University, Shibpur, where they implemented a C# driven virtual interface between a tele-operated robotic hand and sensing glove.
Additionally, Subit had a research internship at Robosapiens India in 2010.
Subit Chakrabarti completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata in the years 2008-2012. Subsequently, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Electrical Engineering at the University of Florida from 2012-2014 and 2012-2017, respectively.
