Alex Goldsmith

Alex Goldsmith has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Vice President of Strategy & Operations at Flagship Pioneering since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Principal in Origination at Flagship Pioneering from January 2020 to February 2022. Alex also worked as a Senior Principal in Technology & Strategy at Flagship Pioneering from November 2017 to December 2019.

Alex is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Apriori Bio since October 2020.

Before joining Flagship Pioneering and Apriori Bio, Alex worked at Pfizer in various positions. Their roles at Pfizer include Executive Director, Head of Business Operations & Strategy in the Medicinal Sciences division from January 2017 to November 2017. Alex was also a Senior Director in Worldwide R&D Portfolio Strategy from January 2016 to January 2017. Additionally, they served as a Strategy Lead in BioTherapeutics R&D from July 2014 to December 2015, and as a Director in R&D Strategic Planning from June 2010 to June 2014.

Alex started their career as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from October 2007 to May 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Bioscience Business Manager at Oxford Brookes University from January 2006 to September 2007. Alex also worked as an Associate Business Consultant at PharmaVentures from January 2004 to December 2005.

Alex Goldsmith has pursued a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. Subsequently, Alex pursued a PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Cambridge.
