Amra Garcia-Tunon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Amra is currently serving as the Head of Recruiting at AQR Capital Management since August 2021. Prior to this, from July 2019 to August 2021, they worked as the Head of Human Resources at HRS Management LLC.
Amra also held the position of Director of Recruiting & HR at Silver Point Capital from March 2011 to April 2019. Before that, they worked as a Recruiter/Human Resources Professional at King Street Capital Management from July 2009 to February 2011.
Amra's extensive experience includes a Vice President-Human Resources role at Goldman Sachs, where they served from June 2000 to December 2008. Amra also held the position of Chief of Staff at Children's Scholarship Fund from May 1998 to May 2000.
Prior to their roles in the financial sector, Amra worked as a Diplomatic Liaison Officer at the New York Commission for the UN and Consular Corps from December 1997 to April 1998. Amra also served as the Coalitions/Grassroots Coordinator for the Five Boroughs of New York in Rudolph Giuliani's Mayoral Re-Election Campaign from July 1997 to November 1997.
Amra Garcia-Tunon completed their high school education at St. Paul - St. Mary's from 1989 to 1991. Following that, they attended Lawrence Woodmere Academy, where they pursued their high school education from 1991 to 1993. Afterwards, they enrolled at Georgetown University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Humanities in International Affairs, completing their studies from 1993 to 1997.
