Daniel Villalon

Daniel Villalon, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Daniel began their career as a Vineyard Data Technician at Pine Ridge Winery, LLC in 2003. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as an Analyst at JPMorgan, focusing on investment and portfolio management for a range of clients. Daniel then joined Mitchell Madison Group as a Business Analyst, where they worked on strategy and operations engagements for multinational companies. In 2008, Daniel became a student at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Since 2010, they have been working at AQR Capital Management, where they served as Principal and Global Co-Head of the Portfolio Solutions Group. In this role, they led a team responsible for producing thought leadership, analytical tools, and portfolio advice for a global client base. Daniel also co-authored a publication called "Alternative Thinking" and co-hosted AQR's podcast, "The Curious Investor."

Daniel Villalon, CFA obtained their MBA degree in Analytic Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Pomona College from 1999 to 2003, earning their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. Daniel also attended Tower Hill School, although the specific years of attendance and field of study are unknown.
