Geert Dirckx

Geert Dirckx has a diverse work experience in the field of water management. Geert has held various roles at Aquafin, starting as a Project Engineer Hydraulics in 1997 and progressing to Senior Project Manager R&D and Business Implementation Manager. In these roles, they have been involved in research, development, and implementation of projects related to sewer systems, including real-time control, early warning systems, and monitoring systems. Before joining Aquafin, they worked as a Researcher in the Drainage team at the Road Research Centre, focusing on sewer renovation techniques and asset management. Geert'sexpertise and experience span areas such as hydrodynamic modeling, infrastructure planning and design, and integrated water management.

Geert Dirckx completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 1989. Geert then pursued a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Engineering from the same university, completing it in 1996. Prior to their university education, Geert attended Sint-Albertuscollege Haasrode from 1982 to 1989. Additionally, they obtained the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines (advanced) with merit from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2016.
