Wouter Maenhout

Wouter Maenhout is a seasoned Process Engineer with extensive experience in wastewater management, currently employed at Aquafin since September 2006. Wouter specializes in hands-on wastewater process design, support, and troubleshooting, with a strong focus on continuous improvement through digital solutions that enhance energy efficiency and asset health. Additionally, Wouter has managed engineering and project cycles for wastewater treatment plants, emphasizing partnerships, standardization, and quality. Prior experience includes serving as a Sanitary Engineer for the World Health Organization, where responsibilities included designing water treatment plants and responding to emergencies. Wouter holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Ghent University, a Master’s in Conflict and Development from the same institution, and has pursued studies in photography and bio-engineering.
